I got my first experience at the Capitol when I was 16 years old. For the next 20 years, I worked in and around the legislature — as an intern, a staffer, a lobbyist, and a legislator.
I’ve learned the process and how to build relationships across the aisle. That’s how I was able to negotiate with the majority party to get a historic number of Democratic bills heard and passed in the State House this year.
For 7 of the 9 years I have been in the State House, I’ve served in various leadership roles, leading recruitment efforts and campaigns, managing goal-setting and agenda building, handling internal issues with members, and more.
As your next AFL-CIO President, I will put my experience to work, full-time, for our organization. With your help, we will build sustainable power at the Capitol and ultimately succeed at making life better for Oklahoma’s working people.
I want to hear from you!
			- Negotiated with Republicans to get bipartisan support for historic number of Democrat-authored bills
 - Worked with Republican Rep. Mark McBride to create what became the largest increase in education funding in state history.
 - As Democratic Whip, rallied Democratic votes to help pass Republican bills that would not have passed without bipartisan support, including bills supporting veterans and combating drug addiction.
